With the technical and operational support of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Phoenix Development Company and N.V. Havenbeheer Suriname are developing new port facilities and a special economic zone in Nickerie Suriname.
Located in the heart of the Suriname-Guyana Basin, our strategic location positions us ideally to meet the needs of the Atlantic markets, making us an excellent choice for companies looking to deliver their goods and services both locally and internationally. With an initial allocation of 1500 hectares (3707 acres), we are committed to developing state-of-the-art infrastructure and resources to drive progress in various industries, including trade, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and the fast-growing offshore oil and gas sector in Surinamese. This will strengthen the local economy directly through capital injections. A large part of the local private sector of Suriname will immediately benefit from this, causing a flywheel effect in the local economy.
